Reducing Solar Gain & Light Glare
The frame is fixed to the wall with brackets that protrude the louvers from the building creating a barrier for air flow. This provides better temperature regulation by deflecting heat away and keeping the window partially openable. The horizontal louver system will wrap around the north-west corner of bedroom 2 sheltering both windows from the sun. The louvre blades are constructed of renewable timber, allowing natural light and warmth to reduce lighting and heating costs. The sectional view shows how the louvres are fixed while the radiation analysis below presents their location on the north-west faces of the home.
